How do I choose a treatment that’s right for me?
We recommend booking a free consultation with one of our therapists to provide a customised skin treatment solution.
When should I arrive for my appointment?
10 minutes prior to your appointment.
Do you accept walk-ins?
Yes.
What if I’m running late for an appointment?
Please call us on 9429 8081.
Why do I need to use aftercare products?
Aftercare products ensure you are achieving maximum skin results. By using aftercare products, you are giving your skin the cleanse, treatment, moisture and protection that it cannot achieve on its own in between treatments. By using our all-Australian paramedical aftercare products, you are not only taking care of your skin, but also preparing it for even better treatment results.
Will a chemical peel make my skin fall off?
The more potent a treatment is, the more intense the redness, peeling and downtime will be.
Our chemical peels are clinically tested for all skin conditions and will have various side effects based on ingredient intensity and your skin. Please consult your therapist before booking, as there are certain conditions that may be a contraindication to treatment. Redness, inflammation and moderate peeling is normal 1-7 days post peel. We recommend using our Ultraceuticals aftercare products, which are specially formulated for 4 individual skin types. Please ask your therapist which option is best for you.
Why do I need to use a serum 2 weeks prior to a Lactic 30 peel?
As most skins are imbalanced and not prepared for such a rapid skin treatment, it is a requirement to use the advised serum to prepare your skin for the intensity of the peel. Don’t worry, your therapist will advise you on which serum to purchase whilst you’re at our clinic.
What Aftercare products does your clinic stock?
TROPIKA currently stock the Ultraceuticals skin care range.

Laser Hair Removal

What is laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is the process of hair removal by means of exposure to pulses of laser light that destroy the hair follicle.

Is laser a hair removal permanent?

We recommend 6-10 sessions to achieve 80-90% permanent hair removal.

What type of laser device is used?

We use medical grade Diode lasers.

Is laser hair removal painful?

Our built in Depil Ice ® Skin Cooling system provides up to -7C° contact cooling during the entire treatment to produce a increased pain reduction. Clients have reported the sensation to be similar to a warmed, ice zap on the skin.

How does laser hair removal work?

Laser hair removal works by targeting the area being treated with concentrated beams of light. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle and is converted into heat. This process destroys the hair follicle and in turn stunts future hair growth, resulting in permanently removed or significantly reduced hair.

Is laser hair removal safe?

Yes. The light pulses from our lasers will only ever penetrate the hair follicles (dark pigment) in the skin.

What areas of the body can be treated with laser?

All areas of the body can be treated.

How many treatments will I need?
Because hairs enter the growth cycle at different times we recommend 6-10 sessions to achieve 80-90% permanent hair removal.
Does laser hair removal cause scarring?

Laser hair removal does not cause scarring.

How long does the laser hair removal take?

Treatments start from 10 minutes for smaller areas and can move into 1 hour for larger areas.

Will laser hair removal cause hair to grow back darker?

No. Hair will eventually cease growth. Some blonde, fine hairs can be expected.

Can I go into the sun?

We do not recommend direct contact with the sun for 2 weeks prior and post treatment.

Do I need to wear sunscreen every day?

We recommend using sunscreen every day pre and post treatment.

I have fake tan on. Can I still come in for my treatment?

No. Fake tan before a treatment will make you ineligible to continue until the skin has returned to it’s normal state. This also applies to solariums and direct sun exposure.

I’ve been taking Roaccutane. Can I still get laser hair removal?
No. Due to the intensive alteration of the skin that Roaccutane produces, you will not be eligible for skin treatments until 6 months post your last dose. Retin-A should also be ceased at least two to four weeks prior to treatment.
Can I get laser hair removal if I am pregnant?

No. Although there have not been any proven cases that laser hair removal can affect a pregnancy, we take every precaution to ensure our clients safety. TROPIKA advises all clients to contact us if you have fallen pregnant or are trying.

Can I get laser hair removal over a tattoo?

No. Unfortunately laser cannot penetrate hair follicles under a tattoo due to high concentrations of pigment.

Can I get laser hair removal if my hair is blonde?

Unfortunately we cannot offer laser hair removal to people with blonde, red or grey/silver hair. As there is no present pigment in these hair colours, the laser will not be able to catch onto the hair.

How should I prepare for my laser appointment?
  • Shave the area 12-24hrs in advance to the appointment
  • Do not wax, epilate or pluck the area for at least two weeks
  • Do not bleach the area for at least four weeks
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for at least two weeks
Can I get laser hair removal if I have dark skin?

We currently treat skin tones I-IV on the Fitzpatrick Scale

IPL vs laser hair removal

IPL machines emit various wavelengths of light, these are not consistent and cannot always reach the hair follicle. This is why IPL treatments have been seen to take longer in achieving results. Diode laser technology used by TROPIKA works by emitting one single wavelength of light, the hair follicle is consistently penetrated and results in permanent hair reduction and smoother skin at a much faster rate.

Skin Needling

What are the benefits of skin needling?
Also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is a revolutionary treatment. It works to rejuvenate your skin by stimulating your body’s collagen production and your natural ability to heal. This results in cell renewal and increased collagen and elastin production. Ultimately tightening the skin, producing volume and assisting with wrinkles and scars to give you a more youthful appearance.
Where on my body can I get skin needling?

We currently offer skin needling on the Face, Décolletage, Neck, Brazilian and Stomach.

What can I expect during the treatment?
You will feel a slight sensation on the skin similar to a rough toothbrush. The treatment is not painful, but some may experience a slight discomfort.
How many treatments will I need?
We expect long term results to be achieved after 4-8 treatments. However, further treatments may be needed for more severe skin conditions.
Will I have downtime?
Your skin may show slight redness for 1-2 days. This will eventually be followed by some peeling as the body goes through it’s natural healing process.
Why is Tropika’s skin needling treatment moreeffective than doing it myself?
We use only the highest medical grade technology on our clients. Our machines reach the maximum penetration of the skin for the most effective results. Skin needling is a dangerous skin manipulation that requires medical grade training. All home use is discouraged.
When will I see results?

As skin needling is an invasive treatment we expect significant results to begin showing within 1-3 months.
